Beedie Capital Acquires 50% Stake in Vistara Growth
Beedie Capital acquired a 50% stake in Vistara Growth and committed up to $125 million to a new $500 million technology fund.
Beedie Capital, the alternative investments arm of real estate developer Ryan Beedie, has acquired a 50% ownership stake in the technology investment firm Vistara Growth. The acquisition establishes a strategic partnership between the two entities, though they will continue to operate as distinct companies.
As part of the agreement, Beedie Capital is committing up to $125 million to a new fund that Vistara Growth intends to launch in the coming months. The new fund has a target of $500 million. Beedie Capital has previously served as a key anchor limited partner for Vistara since its spin-out as a separate entity in 2015.
Vistara Growth specializes in providing growth funding to technology companies. The firm typically utilizes convertible debt and warrants in its investment strategy to limit dilution for company founders.
