Azerbaijan Holds Events Marking Victory Day Anniversary

Azerbaijan commemorated the sixth anniversary of its victory in the 44-day Patriotic War through a national security conference and a celebratory cultural concert.

Azerbaijan marked the sixth anniversary of its victory in the 44-day Patriotic War with a series of academic and cultural events in Baku. The Heydar Aliyev Academy of the State Security Service hosted a national scientific and practical conference titled “Azerbaijan’s Victory: Military Strategy, Diplomacy and National Unity.” During the event, Major General Elshad Nasirov and Deputy Speaker Rafael Huseynov credited the triumph to the military and diplomatic foundations established by Heydar Aliyev and executed by President Ilham Aliyev.

Speakers at the conference emphasized that national unity, army modernization, and strategic communication with foreign media were essential to the victory. Member of Parliament Rizvan Nabiyev noted that these policies have since strengthened the country's economic and military potential, while Major General Elchin Mammadov discussed the evolution of the military education system.

Parallel to the security conference, the Azerbaijan Composers' Union organized a celebratory concert, “Our Glorious Victory,” at the Uzeyir Hajibeyli Concert Hall. The event featured vocal and instrumental performances, including the premiere of a music video for the composition “Great Return.” Chairwoman Firangiz Alizadeh and Member of Parliament Aydin Mirzazade addressed the audience, highlighting the bravery of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and the role of art in fostering patriotism. The concert included performances by the Khirdalan City 11-Year Music School choir and addresses from the families of fallen servicemen.
