This investment follows a capital allocation policy managed by Warren Buffett and Greg Abel. The leadership at Berkshire Hathaway values the wide economic moat American Express has established through its payments infrastructure and premium brand.

American Express leadership projects long-term annual revenue growth of 10% and expects earnings per share to increase at a mid-teens annualized rate.
