Spotify and Anthropic experienced significant service disruptions on Tuesday, September 29, impacting thousands of users in the United States. Outage-tracking data from Downdetector indicated that over 17,000 users reported issues with Spotify and more than 11,000 reported problems with Anthropic's AI service, Claude, by 10:12 a.m. ET.

Spotify acknowledged the disruption on X, stating the company was aware of "some issues" and was investigating the cause. Simultaneously, Anthropic reported it was probing "elevated error rates" across its Claude services. Neither company provided further details to Reuters immediately following the reports.
