APC Accuses ADC of Owing Staff Salaries for 12 Months

The All Progressives Congress accused the African Democratic Congress of failing to pay staff for over a year, sparking a dispute over the 2027 election narrative.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of failing to pay its staff salaries for more than 12 months. APC spokesperson Dele Alake described the alleged non-payment as "wicked and reprehensible," arguing that a party unable to manage its own workforce is unfit to govern Nigeria. The APC further targeted ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, alleging a history of owing employees at Gotel Communication, and Rauf Aregbesola, claiming his tenure as governor of Osun State involved unpaid pensions and partial salary payments.

The ADC dismissed these allegations as an "irresponsible falsehood" and a deliberate attempt to distract the public from the failures of President Bola Tinubu's administration. ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi challenged the ruling party to produce credible evidence, asserting that the APC is manufacturing allegations because it cannot defend its own record on insecurity, unemployment, and the cost of living.

The dispute marks a clash over the central themes of the upcoming 2027 general elections. While the APC urged Nigerians to reject the ADC and its candidates, the ADC maintained that the government is using propaganda to avoid being judged on three years of economic uncertainty and hardship.
