Turkmenistan Reports 6.3 Percent GDP Growth Through October

The government of Turkmenistan reported a 6.3 percent increase in GDP from January to October, driven largely by transport and communications.

The government of Turkmenistan reported a 6.3 percent increase in Gross Domestic Product for the period between January and October 2026. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Kh. Geldimyradov presented these figures during a meeting chaired by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Economic growth was led by the transport and communications sector, which rose by 10.4 percent, followed by trade at 8.6 percent and services at 8.5 percent. Other sectors also saw gains, with construction increasing by 6.8 percent, industrial production by 3.8 percent, and agriculture by 1.2 percent.

While the total volume of manufactured products increased by 10 percent, the overall GDP growth rate of 6.3 percent indicates that physical production increases did not translate proportionally into monetary value.
