XP Factory Sells Boom Battle Bar for Up to £11 Million

XP Factory sold its Boom Battle Bar business to F.O Twenty-Four Ltd, a company backed by Frasers Group, for a total consideration of up to £11 million. The transaction, completed on September 28, consists of an upfront cash payment of £5 million and up to £6 million in sales and EBITDA earn-outs over the next three years.

The disposal follows a divergence in performance between the company's brands. Boom Battle Bar experienced challenging market conditions, with like-for-like sales falling 8% for the year ended March 29, 2026. Conversely, Escape Hunt saw revenue increase 11% to £15.8 million. The two businesses will continue to operate at seven co-located sites under property cost-sharing arrangements.

XP Factory plans to use the proceeds to reduce bank debt and fund the expansion of Escape Hunt. The company is targeting at least 50 UK-owned sites and £30 million in sales by March 2031. Chief Executive Richard Harpham stated that the move allows the company to sharpen its focus on the Escape Hunt model, which has provided consistent returns.
