FCC Filings Reveal Garmin Fenix 9 Technical Specifications

Garmin is preparing to launch the Fenix 9 wearable featuring LTE-M 4G and satellite connectivity according to recently surfaced Federal Communications Commission filings.

Garmin Ltd. is preparing the release of a new wearable, identified in Federal Communications Commission filings as model A05170, which analysts believe is the Fenix 9 watch series. The technical documentation reveals that the device will include LTE-M 4G connectivity for voice data transmission and a satellite connection for other data types, echoing features found in the Fenix 8 Pro.

Additional connectivity specifications listed in the filings include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and ANT+. The documentation also confirms that the hardware was tested with a variety of strap materials, specifically titanium, silicone, and nylon.

While the FCC documents do not explicitly name the product series, the identification as the Fenix 9 is based on the retirement of the Epix series and the separate appearance of the Enduro 4 in other filings. Based on established release patterns, a formal unveiling of the device is expected in the latter half of 2026.
