Vivo Announces X500 Series Launch With Sony Camera Tech
Vivo will launch its X500 series flagship smartphones in China this September, featuring cinema-grade video recording and a custom Sony-developed sensor.
Vivo confirmed the September launch of its X500 series flagship smartphones in China, comprising the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max models. The company skipped the X400 designation, a move likely driven by the cultural avoidance of the number four in China.
The new lineup emphasizes cinema-grade video recording. The Pro models will feature a 50MP ZEISS Ultra Dynamic Main Camera powered by a 1/1.28-inch Phantom 900 sensor, developed in collaboration with Sony. This hardware supports a 17EV dynamic range, 4K 240fps slow-motion, and 4K 120fps HDR video recording.
Technical specifications for the X500 Pro Max include 3-degree optical image stabilisation and CIPA 7.0 professional-grade stabilisation. While official full camera specifications remain pending, leaks indicate the series may retain a 200MP periscope camera previously used in the X300 Ultra.
