Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conducted an official visit to Kyiv on August 6, 2026, meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha to strengthen bilateral relations. The ministers held a one-on-one session and an expanded meeting to review high-level agreements and discuss strategic partnerships in energy, transport, investment, and trade. Bayramov reiterated Azerbaijan's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, advocating for a diplomatic resolution to the war based on international law.

During the visit, the officials laid flowers at the Memorial to Ukraine's Defenders and toured an exhibition of Ukrainian-manufactured drones. Sybiha offered condolences for Azerbaijani citizens killed or injured during military operations in the Black and Azov Seas. He also emphasized Azerbaijan's regional importance and its role in Europe's energy security as Ukraine seeks to diversify its supplies.

The discussions highlighted the existing humanitarian support from Azerbaijan, which exceeds US$50 million and includes rehabilitation programs for children and reconstruction projects in Irpin. Sybiha noted that Ukraine has prepared a package of proposals to further expand the presence of Azerbaijani businesses in the country.
