Dangote Cement Reports 22.7% Profit Increase for First Half 2026

Dangote Cement Plc reported a net profit of ₦638.5 billion for the first half of 2026, driven by strong domestic demand and expanded African exports.

Dangote Cement Plc reported a 22.7% increase in profit after tax to ₦638.5 billion for the first half of 2026, ending June 30. Group revenue rose 21.4% to ₦2.51 trillion, while EBITDA increased 25.8% to ₦1.19 trillion. The growth was supported by an 11.8% rise in cement volumes to 14.9 million tonnes and a 62.3% surge in clinker and cement exports from Nigeria to 1.1 million tonnes, with shipments reaching Ghana, Cameroon, and Côte d’Ivoire.

Nigerian operations generated ₦1.81 trillion in revenue, while pan-African businesses contributed ₦775.35 billion. Operational improvements included the deployment of 300 compressed natural gas trucks in Tanzania and a new mobile refuelling unit at the Okpella plant. Despite energy and logistics remaining the highest operating expenses, production costs grew more slowly than revenue, and finance costs dropped to ₦112.1 billion.

To support a long-term goal of 80 million tonnes of installed capacity by 2030, the company is constructing a six-million-tonne-per-annum plant in Itori, Ogun State, scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Cardinal Stone forecasts that the company's annual revenue will reach ₦4.8 trillion this year.
