China Machinery Engineering Corp to Restart Venezuela Power Plant

China Machinery Engineering Corporation plans to partially restart a massive oil-fired power plant in Venezuela next month. The company will switch on a 600-megawatt unit at the Planta Centro complex, a facility that has remained largely idle for several years.

This initiative is part of a larger effort to repair the dilapidated electrical grid in Venezuela. The project is being executed under a contract originally established during the presidency of the late Hugo Chávez.
