Offshore Energies UK Urges Faster Rosebank and Jackdaw Approvals

Offshore Energies UK is urging the government to accelerate the consent process for the Rosebank and Jackdaw energy projects. Chief Executive David Whitehouse stated that ongoing uncertainty regarding these approvals has stifled domestic oil and gas investment, which in turn has increased the region's reliance on imports.

Whitehouse argued that a positive decision on these specific projects would serve to restore investor confidence and demonstrate that the revised regulatory regime is functioning effectively. He emphasized the need for a regulatory framework that allows projects to move forward without delay.
