Odisha Publishes Final Voter Rolls After Special Intensive Revision

The Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha, S Gopalan, announced the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 on September 21. The process, which began on May 30, 2026, resulted in a final state-wide electoral roll of 31,632,754 voters. While 290,000 eligible applicants were added, authorities removed approximately 20.56 lakh electors due to death, permanent relocation, absence, or duplicate entries.

District-level publications followed the state announcement. In Puri, District Collector Dibyajyoti Parida published a roll of 1,311,876 voters across 1,823 polling booths, an increase from the previous count of 1,302,768. In Khordha, the final count reached 1,060,137 voters after adding 9,539 new entries and deleting 993 invalid ones. Kataka recorded 1,952,630 voters, with 25,020 new additions and 3,005 removals.

The finalized rolls are available for public inspection through the official portals of the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha. Citizens may submit appeals to District Collectors or the state electoral authority. Following the conclusion of the SIR, officials have returned to a continuous updating process for electoral records.
