Hamza Al-Mustapha Denies Claims of Sani Abacha's Sexual Death

Former Chief Security Officer Hamza Al-Mustapha dismissed claims that the late Nigerian Head of State General Sani Abacha died during an intimate encounter on June 8, 1998. Speaking to journalists in Kaduna during the 3rd General Hassan Usman Katsina Memorial Conference, Al-Mustapha characterized these allegations as scripted lies orchestrated by third parties.

The dispute follows the publication of memoirs by Dennis Amachree, a retired Department of State Services operative. In his writings, including 'The Shadow Warrior' and 'DSS @ 40: My Journey Behind the Shield', Amachree alleges that Abacha suffered a coitus-induced cardiac arrest at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa Guest House. Amachree claims a pharmacist, who was the sister of Abacha's girlfriend, discovered the leader unresponsive and later told investigators, "I did not kill him, he died on top of me."

Al-Mustapha asserted that he possesses CCTV footage of the military ruler's final moments that contradicts Amachree's version of events. While he urged the public to ignore the memoir's claims because the deceased cannot defend themselves, Al-Mustapha did not specify the contents of the footage or state if he intends to release it publicly.
