BRICS Industry Ministers Adopt Joint Declaration in Jaipur
BRICS nations adopted a joint declaration to strengthen industrial cooperation and innovation during ministerial meetings hosted by India in Jaipur.
The 10th BRICS Industry Ministers' Meeting concluded in Jaipur on August 6, 2026, under the chairship of the Government of India. Member nations adopted a Joint Declaration focused on the theme Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainable Development, utilizing the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR) to advance technological transformation.
Key outcomes of the meeting included the finalization of a cooperation framework for the BRICS SME Working Group, a work plan for the Photovoltaic Industry Working Group, and an action plan to promote startup-led innovation. India specifically proposed the creation of a BRICS Incubator Network and a BRICS Startup Innovation Fund to drive these efforts. Union Minister Piyush Goyal urged member countries to leverage their complementary strengths to build resilient, self-reliant industries.
Following the industry summit, India hosted the 16th BRICS Trade Ministers' Meeting in Jaipur on August 7 to discuss global value chains and the multilateral trading system. On the sidelines of these events, Piyush Goyal held bilateral meetings with the trade and industry ministers of Brazil and Egypt to explore cooperation in pharmaceuticals, energy, and agriculture.
