People's Bank of China to Inject 1 Trillion Yuan Daily
The People's Bank of China will inject up to 1 trillion yuan daily into the banking system to maintain liquidity during upcoming national holidays.
The People's Bank of China announced on September 23 that it will inject up to 1 trillion yuan ($149 billion) per day into the banking system. This liquidity support will be provided through short-term overnight reverse repo operations between September 28 and October 8.
The central bank is implementing these measures to address the typical increase in liquidity demand that occurs before the Golden Week holiday period. The injection follows a series of market closures, including the Mid-Autumn Festival from September 25 to September 27 and the National Day holiday from October 1 to October 7.
China's interbank bond and stock markets are scheduled to remain closed during these periods, with trading expected to resume on October 8.
