Mulberry Group Sales Rise 18 Percent Amid Turnaround Plan
Mulberry reported an 18 percent increase in group sales driven by strong demand in the United States and Europe as part of a financial turnaround.
Mulberry reported an 18 percent increase in group sales for the 26-week period ending September 26, marking progress in a financial turnaround plan launched early last year. The luxury handbag maker saw growth across all major regions, with sales rising 28 percent in the United States, 23 percent in Europe, and 10 percent in the United Kingdom. The company's franchise and wholesale division experienced the largest surge, with a 52 percent jump.
Management attributed the growth to strong demand for core and seasonal collections, specifically the Stevie, Crochet, and Raffia bags. Increased brand visibility following the Mulberry by Christopher Kane runway show at London Fashion Week also contributed to the results.
Chief Executive Andrea Baldo stated that the performance reflects a strategic refocus on product, brand, and customer. While noting that the company continues to operate in a challenging macroeconomic environment, Baldo credited a disciplined approach to cost management and trading for the current trajectory.
