India Real Estate Equity Inflows Hit Record $9.5 Billion
India's real estate sector attracted a record $9.5 billion in equity capital during the third quarter of 2026, driven by data center and office demand.
India's real estate sector saw a record $9.5 billion in equity capital inflows during the July-September quarter of 2026, more than doubling the $3.8 billion recorded in the previous quarter. According to a report by CBRE South Asia, investor demand for data centers, built-up office assets, and land development sites drove the surge, accounting for 91% of the total capital deployed.
Total inflows for the first nine months of 2026 reached $18.6 billion, already surpassing the $14.2 billion total for the full year of 2025. Foreign investors provided 59% of the quarterly inflows, with investors from the United States contributing 90% of that foreign capital. Institutional investors represented 79% of overall inflows in the third quarter.
Geographically, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, and Chennai received approximately 53% of the investment. Anshuman Magazine, Chairman and CEO of CBRE for India, South-East Asia, Middle East and Africa, stated that the trend "reflects how deep and diverse India's real estate market has become" and noted that institutional capital is now flowing into data centers beyond traditional offices and land.
