Kia Cuts 2026 EV6 Prices to Start Under $40,000

Kia reduced starting prices for the 2026 EV6 by up to $5,900 to improve affordability and competitiveness against rivals like the Tesla Model Y.

Kia reduced starting prices for the 2026 EV6 compact crossover by between $4,930 and $5,900 across various trim levels. The base Light standard-range rear-wheel-drive variant now starts at $37,900, marking the first time the model has been priced under $40,000 since its 2021 launch. The top-tier GT-Line AWD model is now priced at $53,000.

These pricing adjustments aim to increase competitiveness against rivals such as the Tesla Model Y, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The 2026 model year also introduces a standard dual-voltage charging cable for all trims and new exterior paint options, including Glacier White Pearl and Wolf Gray.

While the entry-level Light SR RWD offers 167 horsepower and a 237-mile range, the GT-Line AWD produces 641 horsepower. The high-performance EV6 GT has been discontinued for this model year, although some reports suggest a separate announcement regarding that variant may follow. These changes occur as the automaker prepares to launch the subcompact EV3.
