IBM and Yotta Launch Agentic AI Platform for India
IBM and Yotta Data Services partnered to deploy an agentic AI platform on Shakti Cloud for Indian enterprises and government bodies.
On May 7, 2026, IBM and Yotta Data Services Pvt Ltd. announced a partnership in New Delhi to develop an agentic AI platform tailored for Indian enterprises and government organizations. The platform integrates IBM watsonx Orchestrate with Yotta's Shakti Cloud, which is a MeitY-empanelled, India-hosted infrastructure.
The collaboration aims to transition Indian sectors—including banking, manufacturing, and the public sector—from AI experimentation to large-scale, governed adoption. The platform allows organizations to deploy AI agents for critical functions such as IT service management, finance, procurement, HR, and customer support while adhering to strict data-residency, security, and regulatory requirements.
Sunil Gupta, Managing Director and CEO of Yotta Data Services, stated the secure, India-hosted cloud provides companies the confidence to innovate while maintaining control over data. Sandip Patel, Managing Director for IBM India and South Asia, noted that the alliance merges sovereign cloud infrastructure with AI capabilities to ensure transparency, trust, and responsible scaling.
