Mitsubishi Electric to Acquire PCI Energy Solutions for $1.4 Billion

Mitsubishi Electric agreed to acquire U.S. energy-management software provider PCI Energy Solutions for $1.4 billion to expand its North American power market presence.

Mitsubishi Electric Corp. agreed on August 20, 2026, to acquire PCI Energy Solutions, a U.S.-based energy-management software provider, for $1.4 billion. The transaction will make PCI Energy Solutions, also known as Power Costs, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese industrial group.

PCI Energy Solutions provides software used for 60% of electricity generation in the United States, with a specialization in demand forecasting, generation scheduling, and power trading. Mitsubishi Electric plans to integrate this optimization technology with its existing digital platforms and control technology, including BLEnDer and Serendie.

The acquisition is intended to accelerate the expansion of Mitsubishi Electric's presence in the North American power market. The deal is expected to close in 2026, pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
