Nvidia Reports 85 Percent Revenue Growth Amid AI Bubble Fears
Nvidia reported first-quarter revenue of nearly $82 billion as investors debate the sustainability of the AI infrastructure boom and the company's trillion-dollar valuation.
Nvidia reported a revenue increase of 85 percent to nearly $82 billion for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, with net income rising 211 percent to $58 billion. The company currently maintains a market capitalization between $5.2 trillion and $5.45 trillion.
Financial analysts remain divided over the company's valuation. Some argue the stock is undervalued given a price-to-earnings ratio of 33 and a price-earnings-to-growth ratio of 0.44. Conversely, critics point to the law of large numbers as a factor that may slow future growth. Concerns have also emerged regarding circular financing linked to a $500 billion memorandum of understanding with Wall Street firms intended to fund AI infrastructure.
Market reactions have been mixed. Michael Hartnett of Bank of America warned that an AI bubble bust is impending. In a shift of portfolio strategy, Dan Loeb's investment firm, Third Point, sold 190,000 shares of Nvidia while simultaneously establishing a new stake in SpaceX.
