Rashtriya Bajrang Dal Protests Demolition of Hindu Temple in Pakistan

Rashtriya Bajrang Dal members protested in Jammu after a century-old Hindu temple in Siraj village, Pakistan, was reportedly demolished or collapsed.

The Rashtriya Bajrang Dal staged protests in Jammu, India, on September 2, 2026, following the destruction of a Hindu temple in Siraj village, Pakistan. Protesters burned effigies and demanded that the Indian Central Government pressure Pakistan to restore the site, which is estimated to be between 100 and 130 years old.

The temple was reportedly destroyed on August 21, though accounts of the cause differ. The Pakistan Masiha Millat Party alleges the structure was deliberately razed to allow an adjoining seminary to expand, noting that a previous order to evict illegal occupants from the property was never implemented. In contrast, the Evacuee Trust Property Board denies any deliberate demolition, claiming the structure collapsed due to torrential rains.

The Pakistan Masiha Millat Party has called on the Punjab government to increase protections for minority religious sites. Meanwhile, the Evacuee Trust Property Board stated it will decide whether the temple will be restored.
