Israeli Forces Enter Jenin After Mob Attacks Civilians

An Israeli mother and son narrowly escaped a violent mob attack in Jenin on August 6, 2026, after a navigation error led them into the Palestinian Authority-controlled city while traveling to Afula. A mob threw bricks at their vehicle and attempted to open the doors to reach the occupants. The two civilians escaped unharmed and reported the incident to the Israel Defense Forces at the Jalame Checkpoint.

In response, Israeli forces entered Jenin and sealed off the Al-Zayed Roundabout area. During the operation, soldiers closed local shops, ransacked commercial properties, and detained several young men. The Israeli defense establishment launched an investigation to locate those involved in the initial attack on the civilians.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that the military operation resulted in the shooting of a 14-year-old Palestinian, who sustained a gunshot wound to the lower back. Another Palestinian individual was reportedly severely beaten by soldiers during the incursion.
