AISA President Targeted with Ink at Ranchi Student Protest

The All India Students' Association (AISA) and the JPSC JSSC Reform Manch led protests at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi on August 7, 2026, demanding a CBI investigation into paper leaks and the cancellation of competitive exams conducted after 2019. During the demonstration, AISA President Neha Bora and other female protesters were targeted with ink.

Bora identified the perpetrator as Amarnath Pandey, a 26-year-old Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh member from Hazaribagh. She questioned how Pandey bypassed police cordons to reach the protesters and alleged the attack followed a hate campaign orchestrated by the Bharatiya Janata Party and RSS. Bora called for an official inquiry into the security breach and urged Chief Minister Hemant Soren to resolve the examination irregularities.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) dismissed these claims as a manufactured narrative. ABVP National General Secretary Virendra Singh Solanki described the accusations as an exercise in political desperation and cheap publicity. ABVP leadership, including JNU Vice President Anupama Gadhwal, characterized the entire visit and incident as a pre-planned publicity stunt aimed at regaining political relevance. While the Reform Manch is pursuing negotiations with the Jharkhand government through an 11-member delegation, they stated that a Vidhan Sabha march announced by Bora is not affiliated with their organization.
