Mars is closing a Nature's Bakery manufacturing plant in Hazelwood, Missouri, by September 2027, affecting 345 employees.
Mars Incorporated is permanently closing a Nature's Bakery manufacturing plant located at 8860 Pershall Road in Hazelwood, Missouri. According to a WARN notice submitted to the state of Missouri, the facility will transfer its production to other Nature's Bakery sites, with a final shutdown scheduled for September 2027.
The closure will result in phased job losses for 345 employees. The first group of 130 workers will depart on September 11, 2026, followed by another 215 employees on February 26, 2027. Affected associates have been notified of their employment end dates and may seek alternative roles within Nature's Bakery or the broader Mars company.
This operational shift follows previous investments by Mars to expand capacity, including a $237 million factory project in Salt Lake City, Utah, which was announced in January 2024.
