Motorola Debuts Signature 27 Flagship and Android 17 Rollout

Motorola debuted the Signature 27, the second generation of its ultra-premium flagship series, at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 2nm chip and features a new ArcticMesh cooling system that is 40% larger than the previous generation. Hardware specifications include a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, and acoustic tuning developed with Bang & Olufsen.

The smartphone integrates several AI capabilities, including Google Gemini for contextual tasks and multimodal media generation, and Google's Lyria model for on-device music creation. Motorola committed to providing seven years of software and operating system updates for the device, which will launch in global markets in 2026 in Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive finishes.

Simultaneously, the company expanded its Android 17 rollout to include the Razr, Edge, and Signature series. This update includes expanded access to Qira, a personal AI assistant co-developed with parent company Lenovo. Qira provides a single AI experience across Motorola phones and Lenovo PCs, enabling users to summarize notifications, transcribe meetings, and generate custom artwork for avatars and wallpapers.
