Pakistan Warns Taliban Over Indian-Sponsored Terrorism
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry warned the Afghan Taliban of serious consequences for harboring militants and acting as a proxy for India.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, warned the Afghan Taliban regime that it will pay a serious price if it continues to harbor terrorist leaders and support militancy within Pakistan. In a series of interviews on November 1, 2026, Chaudhry accused the Taliban of acting as a proxy for India, which he identified as the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the region.
Chaudhry specifically alleged that the Afghan regime provides shelter to leaders of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), including Noor Wali Mehsud, Bashir Zeb, and Gul Bahadur, as well as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). He claimed the Taliban lacks an indigenous drone industry and relies on external sponsors, specifically India, for such technology. These warnings follow reports that terrorism emanating from Afghan soil caused 1,327 Pakistani deaths in 2026.
Asserting that the Pakistan Army is a technology-savvy force, Chaudhry stated that the military is integrating artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and cyber capabilities to counter non-contact warfare. He maintained that Pakistan possesses the operational readiness to intercept any drones sent from Afghanistan or India and is prepared to inflict a punishment the Taliban regime cannot absorb.
While rejecting the total isolation of Afghanistan, Chaudhry urged the international community to pressure the Taliban to behave as a responsible state and cease the production of drugs and terrorism.
