KKR agreed to sell its storage tank assets in Japan and South Korea to undisclosed institutional investors. The transaction includes Central Tank Terminal in Japan, which operates 12 terminals with over 450 tanks and 420,000 kiloliters of capacity, and Central Terminal Korea, which manages a tank-terminal complex in Ulsan and grain-silo facilities in Ulsan and Pyeongtaek.
These businesses provide storage and handling services for the energy, chemical, logistics, and agricultural sectors. KKR originally acquired Central Tank Terminal in 2021 and Central Terminal Korea in 2023. During its ownership, the firm expanded both operations through additional acquisitions and capacity increases.
The financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
