Tata Motors Launches TATA.CARS Retail Identity to Drive Growth
Tata Motors rebranded its passenger vehicle retail identity as TATA.CARS to unify its portfolio and support goals for 20% overall market share.
Tata Motors launched TATA.CARS on August 27 as the new consumer-facing retail identity for its passenger vehicle division. Announced at an event in Mumbai, the rebranding unifies the company's SUVs, hatchbacks, and electric vehicles under a simplified name designed to reflect consumer behavior. The shift introduces a new brand promise, "Nothing’s Too Far," replacing the 2017 tagline "Connecting Aspirations."
Tata Motors will implement a visual identity based on a "Parallel Pathways" philosophy, featuring a principal color called Ambition Blue, a bespoke typeface named Parallel Display, and a new sonic identity. The company plans to progressively update its digital touchpoints, social media handles, and physical dealerships with modern interiors and glass surfaces. While the retail identity changes, the physical ellipse logo on vehicles and individual model nameplates like Nexon and Safari remain unchanged.
Despite the consumer-facing shift, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. remains the registered legal entity for all statutory filings and regulatory obligations. The company, which currently holds over 40% of the Indian electric vehicle market, intends to use the TATA.CARS identity to expand into global markets and reach a 20% overall market share in India.
