Bank of America to Hire 1,000 Additional Apprentices
Bank of America will hire 1,000 more apprentices over two years and invest $150 million in workforce development to expand skills-based hiring.
Bank of America announced on Thursday that it will hire 1,000 additional apprentices over the next two years to expand its skills-based hiring initiatives. These positions target workers without four-year college degrees and will span technology, consumer banking, operations, and other business areas, adding to the bank's existing annual intake of over 800 apprentices.
To support these efforts, the company will invest $150 million over five years into workforce development organizations, including universities, community colleges, and nonprofits. The bank also committed to hiring 8,000 individuals from community colleges and 10,000 workers with military backgrounds over a five-year period.
CEO Brian Moynihan stated the initiative aims to help create a skilled American workforce. Acting Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling endorsed the investment, noting that American workers deserve the opportunity to build careers without leaving their hometowns.
