Next Reports 8.1% Third-Quarter Sales Growth
Clothing retailer Next exceeded sales guidance with an 8.1% increase in third-quarter full price sales, driven by strong international online growth.
Next reported an 8.1% increase in full price sales for the 13 weeks ending October 31, surpassing its previous guidance. The growth was primarily fueled by a 32.2% surge in online international sales, which compensated for a slower 2.0% rise in the United Kingdom.
The company attributed the volatility in the UK market to unseasonably warm weather during September. While international performance was strong, Next noted that an additional £5 million in profit was offset by rising tariff costs within the European Union.
Despite these fluctuations, the retailer maintained its profit before tax forecast of £1.255 billion for the year ending January 2027. Next also kept its fourth-quarter full price sales growth forecast steady at 5.8%.
