Carlyle Group Reports Highest Quarterly Earnings in Four Years

Carlyle Group reported $472.3 million in second-quarter distributable earnings while distributing nearly $7 billion in capital to clients.

The Carlyle Group reported its highest distributable earnings in nearly four years for the second quarter, reaching $472.3 million, or $1.07 per share. Total assets under management rose 4% to $485 billion, and the firm maintained $97 billion in available capital for investments.

Despite the earnings peak, overall financial performance was mixed. Total revenue declined to $1.12 billion from $1.57 billion the previous year, and net income fell to $224.8 million from $328.1 million. During the period, the firm recorded $16.8 billion in inflows, which included $5 billion for its upcoming U.S. buyout fund, and invested $14.3 billion.

Chief Executive Harvey Schwartz emphasized the firm's success in returning capital to its investors. He noted that the company distributed nearly $7 billion during the quarter and $37 billion over the past year.
