Khyzhak Brigade Defends H20 Highway Against Russian Drones

The Khyzhak Brigade, a Ukrainian combat unit composed of former police patrol officers, is currently operating a mobile fire group along the H20 highway in the Donetsk region. Positioned between Kramatorsk and Kostyantynivka, the unit's primary mission is to protect supply lines and personnel by shooting down Russian FPV and kamikaze drones, including the Molniya model.

The operational area is a high-risk kill zone characterized by intense drone warfare. To maintain logistics, the unit utilizes ground robots, electric scooters, and Ukrainian Vampire drones. Soldiers rely on underground dugouts for shelter and a strict rotation system to manage the psychological and physical toll of the conflict.

Unit members describe a landscape of destruction, noting the loss of comrades to shaped charges and the burning of local landmarks, such as a church destroyed by artillery shelling. The brigade continues to intercept aerial threats to ensure the viability of the critical transport artery connecting frontline cities.
