Virgin Media O2 Transfers Email Services to Junara
Virgin Media O2 is discontinuing its email services and transferring account management to Junara, requiring users to pay a transfer fee to keep their addresses.
Virgin Media O2 is discontinuing its internal email services and transferring account management to Junara, a specialist provider owned by Atmail. The transition affects users with ntlworld.com, blueyonder.co.uk, virgin.net, and virginmedia.com addresses.
Existing broadband, landline, or TV customers can migrate to Junara for a 99p transfer fee, which includes the first 12 months of service for free. Customers requiring additional support will receive 18 months free. Following these initial periods, Junara will charge an annual fee of £65 per mailbox. Former customers must sign up for a standard paid plan to retain their email addresses.
Users who do not wish to migrate may download their data and move to another provider or close their accounts. The company will notify customers in phases starting in September, granting a 45-day window to make a decision and a subsequent 120-day support period. Accounts that remain inactive after 165 days will be permanently deleted.
