TV Licensing detailed the funding allocation for the annual £180 TV Licence fee and the legal boundaries of home enforcement visits. The fee supports the BBC, covering national and regional TV channels, BBC iPlayer, BBC Sounds, and the BBC World Service to keep these services free from commercial advertising.

Compliance is strictly enforced, as watching live TV or using BBC iPlayer without a valid licence can lead to fines of up to £1,000 plus legal costs. However, the agency clarified that enforcement officers may only enter a residence with the occupant's permission unless they possess a search warrant. Residents retain the right to remain silent and deny entry to these officers.

Legal viewing without a licence remains limited to DVDs, non-BBC on-demand services, and specific catch-up platforms such as ITVX and All4. Live broadcasts and any content on BBC iPlayer require a valid licence.
