Jury Finds Arm Breached License Agreement With Qualcomm
A federal jury ruled that Arm Holdings breached its license agreement with Qualcomm and interfered with its business relationship with Meta Platforms.
A federal jury in Delaware ruled that Arm Holdings breached its license agreement with Qualcomm Inc. and intentionally interfered with Qualcomm's business relationship with Meta Platforms. The verdict follows a five-day trial and marks a legal victory for Qualcomm, though the jury awarded the company nominal damages of only $2.
Qualcomm described the outcome as a victory for innovation. The legal dispute is the latest escalation in a deteriorating relationship between the two companies that began after SoftBank Group acquired Arm in 2016.
Market reactions followed the announcement immediately. Qualcomm shares rose between 1% and 2.5%, while Arm shares declined between 1% and 2.2%.
