Pentagon Inspector General Declines Probe Into Ukraine Satellite Disruptions
Platte Moring III declined to investigate the loss of Ukraine's access to Starlink and Starshield systems, citing the incident as a contractual business dispute.
Pentagon Inspector General Platte Moring III declined to investigate the disruption of U.S. intelligence sharing with Ukraine and the loss of Kyiv's access to Starlink and Starshield systems. In a letter sent Tuesday to a bipartisan group of senators, Moring III characterized the incident as a business dispute that falls outside his purview.
Moring III stated that Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby informed him the disruptions are a contractual matter. According to the inspector general, jurisdiction over the issue rests with the Department of the Air Force and the United States Space Force.
