Nigeria Reports 97.4 Percent Domestic Crude Supply Compliance

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission reported a 97.4 percent compliance rate for the Domestic Crude Supply Obligation during the second quarter of 2026. Between April and June, oil producers supplied 53.7 million barrels of crude oil and condensate to domestic refineries.

Commission officials attributed this performance to increased local output and the establishment of long-term Sales and Purchase Agreements between producers and refiners, which reduced transaction frictions. Performance fluctuated monthly, with April seeing 114.9 percent of allocations delivered, May dropping to 75.8 percent, and June recovering to 102.4 percent.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals Fze acted as the primary participant in the program. The refinery received 52.6 million barrels, representing approximately 78 percent of the volumes offered to it during the quarter.
