Nvidia Launches DLSS 5 with NBA 2K27 Support

Nvidia is launching DLSS 5 AI rendering technology starting with NBA 2K27, initially targeting RTX 50 series GPUs before expanding to RTX 40 series hardware.

Nvidia Corporation is launching DLSS 5, a computationally demanding AI rendering technology, with NBA 2K27 serving as the first supported title. The technology initially targets GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs, though the company confirmed it will expand official support to the RTX 40 series once performance is fully tuned on the newer hardware.

Nvidia is currently focusing on model optimizations for the RTX 50 series, with further updates expected this fall. To maintain control over the technology, the company is restricting end-user settings to a simple on-off toggle, reserving granular artistic controls like masking and model selection for developers. This move follows attempts by modders to port leaked versions of the technology to older GPUs using full slider controls.

Regarding the broader rollout, Nvidia declined to re-confirm the specific list of 16 previously announced titles, which included Hogwarts Legacy and Starfield. The company stated that updates will be shared as partners finalize their respective integrations.
