The Election Commission of India is conducting a Special Intensive Revision campaign in Uttarakhand to update electoral rolls through door-to-door voter verification. The district-wide exercise involves Booth Level Officers visiting households to verify voter details and collect necessary information.
As part of the campaign, officials served verification notices to several prominent figures, including Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat and Nainital MLA Sarita Arya. The notice for Arya requested verification details for both the legislator and her younger son.
Nainital Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nawazish Khalik stated that the campaign is being implemented uniformly across the district for all eligible voters. He noted that the process applies regardless of political or administrative status to ensure records remain accurate and free from errors before the revised rolls are published.
