Raytheon Wins $20.7 Billion US Defense Missile Contract
Raytheon secured a $20.7 billion contract from the U.S. Department of Defense to accelerate production of AMRAAM air-to-air missiles for domestic and international use.
Raytheon, a unit of RTX, received a contract from the U.S. Department of Defense valued up to $20.7 billion to accelerate the production of AMRAAM air-to-air missiles. The five-year agreement, which includes two option years, aims to scale production to record levels to meet long-term demand from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and international partners.
The company nearly doubled production between 2024 and 2025. To further boost capacity and replenish air-defense stockpiles, Raytheon previously signed an agreement with North Atlantic Treaty Organization allies to manufacture AMRAAM components within Europe. These missiles have seen extensive use in recent conflicts involving Ukraine and Iran.
Phil Jasper, President of Raytheon, stated that the company continues to make significant investments in its workforce, technology, supply chain, and facilities to meet the surging demand.
