Cavista Holdings Hosts U.S.-Africa Leadership Dinner in New York
Cavista Holdings convened business leaders and policymakers in New York to discuss strategies for converting U.S. investment interest into sustainable African businesses.
Cavista Holdings hosted its annual U.S.-Africa Leadership Dinner on September 21 in New York during the 81st United Nations General Assembly. The event brought together African and U.S. business leaders, policymakers, and development finance stakeholders to discuss converting investor interest into sustainable, long-term businesses across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, agriculture, manufacturing, technology, and critical minerals.
Speakers emphasized that successful investment requires combining U.S. capital and technology with African local knowledge, talent, and market access. Niyi John Olajide argued that the quality of partnerships will define the next phase of investment, noting that investors need trusted local partners to navigate the realities of execution.
To support these efforts, the Export-Import Bank of the United States and the Africa Finance Corporation highlighted their roles in facilitating private capital. Representatives from both organizations stressed the importance of early market engagement and deep local knowledge to successfully navigate diverse regulatory environments and create bankable investments.
