Israeli Strikes Kill Journalist and Civilians Across Gaza Strip

Israeli Security Forces killed at least eight people, including journalist Muhammad Abdel Aziz Al-Najjar, in a series of Wednesday strikes across the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Security Forces conducted a series of strikes across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, killing at least eight people and wounding dozens more. In the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City, a strike on a civilian transport vehicle killed five people, including women and children. In al-Qarara, north of Khan Yunis, a bombardment on Salah Ad-Din Street killed a 33-year-old Palestinian and injured several others, including a minor.

A separate drone strike in the al-Mawasi area of al-Qarara killed journalist Muhammad Abdel Aziz Al-Najjar, an imam and presenter for Holy Qur’an Radio, along with at least seven other people. The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip identified Al-Najjar as the 263rd journalist killed since October 2023, condemning the deaths as a systematic assassination of reporters.

These attacks occurred despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect in October 2025. Hamas stated the strikes represent a blatant breach of the truce and undermine the chances of implementing the agreement. The Government Media Office and the Ministry of Health report that Israel has committed over 5,100 violations of the truce, resulting in at least 1,431 Palestinian deaths and over 5,000 injuries since the ceasefire began. Overall conflict casualties have surpassed 74,000 deaths and 175,000 injuries.
