CoreWeave Bond Prices Drop as AI Debt Fears Grow
CoreWeave faces rising financial distress indicators as investors grow nervous over the debt levels of the artificial intelligence industry.
Investors are signaling increased concern over the debt levels of the artificial intelligence sector, specifically targeting the neocloud provider CoreWeave. The company, which specializes in renting data-center capacity for AI models, has seen the price of its five-year bond drop 16% since July.
This price decline has pushed the bond's yield to 15%, a threshold typically associated with companies in financial distress. Market indicators further suggest instability, as the price of credit-default swaps now indicates a probability above 60% that CoreWeave will be unable to service its debts within the next five years.
