Cumberland County Schedules Public Sessions for Data Center Ordinance

The Government of Cumberland County is organizing two community input sessions in August to collect public feedback for a proposed data center ordinance. The meetings are scheduled for August 6 at Stedman Baptist Church in Stedman and August 11 at the J.D. Pone Recreation Center in Hope Mills, both from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Participants will engage with discussion stations covering several key areas, including zoning, land use, power, water, noise, air quality, environmental considerations, and economic impacts. County staff will synthesize these comments into a report for the Joint Planning Board and the Board of Commissioners to use during the drafting of the ordinance.

County officials stated that these sessions are part of Cumberland County's specific ordinance development process and are separate from any actions being considered by other local governments.
