GISEC Global 2026 Opens in Dubai to Address AI Threats

The GISEC Global 2026 cybersecurity conference opened at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai, focusing on the intersection of AI-enabled threats, national security, and critical infrastructure protection. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, stated that cyber resilience is a collective responsibility and a critical component of national economic security.

Conference discussions center on the risks of AI-generated deepfakes and the necessity of safeguarding AI agents and data. A Global Leadership Roundtable is addressing the protection of the US$28 trillion digital economy, while the energy company ENOC provided guidance on assessing cyber risk through operational and safety consequences. Amer Sharaf of the Dubai Electronic Security Centre discussed strategies for building the world's safest city by integrating digital and physical safety.

The event includes practical technical labs, such as the School of Cyber Defense and the Dubai Cyber Challenge. The conference continues through September 18, with scheduled sessions covering cloud security, digital forensics, and cyber warfare.
