ASML Ties Executive Pay to Employee Satisfaction Scores
ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet is linking senior leader compensation to employee satisfaction after engagement scores dropped following corporate reorganizations.
CEO Christophe Fouquet is linking executive compensation to employee satisfaction to address declining morale at ASML. According to an internal memo, the company will integrate a Workplace Experience Index into the Long-Term Incentive plan for senior leaders and the Board of Management. This index will be derived from six specific questions in employee surveys.
The decision follows an annual survey of more than 38,000 employees, which showed the employee engagement index fell to 73.5% from 78% the previous year. This decline follows a major corporate reorganization aimed at reducing bureaucracy and management layers, including the announcement of up to 1,700 potential job cuts in January.
Despite internal discontent, ASML recently increased its 2026 sales forecast. The company reports surging demand for its EUV lithography machines, driven by the global artificial intelligence boom.
