Taiwanese Airlines Raise International Flight Fuel Surcharges

The Civil Aviation Administration of Taiwan is increasing fuel surcharges for international flights starting October 7 due to rising aviation fuel prices.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Taiwan announced that fuel surcharges for international flights operated by Taiwanese carriers will increase starting October 7, 2026. This adjustment follows a rise in international aviation fuel prices, which reached US$177.89 per barrel according to data from CPC Corporation, Taiwan.

Under the new pricing, short-haul route surcharges will rise from US$32.5 to US$37.5, while long-haul route surcharges will increase from US$84.5 to US$97.5. This represents the third consecutive monthly increase since July.

To address public concerns regarding the price hikes, the Civil Aviation Administration has instructed airlines to provide consumers with detailed information regarding fuel costs and the specific proportion these costs represent of total flight expenses.
